On Sunday, many people will gather with their friends and family to watch the Super Bowl. It's a tradition that many people enjoy. With the Super Bowl being hosted here in California, it has become a bigger deal (if only slightly) around here than usual. That brings us to the point of today's post: Super Bowl Sunday has traditionally been a day where many more people are out on the road while intoxicated, leading to an increase in drunk driving arrests and crashes.

The Auto Club of Southern California looked at data over the last five years in the state of California, and they found that there is a 77 percent increase in the number of alcohol-related crashes that cause injury or death on Super Bowl Sunday.

Look, we aren't saying that you shouldn't try to have a good time on Super Bowl Sunday. You should enjoy yourself and your time with friends and family. Super Bowl Sunday isn't just one of the (if not the) biggest sporting events of the year, it's also a huge moment across the country. It's practically a holiday.

However, when it comes to enjoying yourself in a holiday-like atmosphere, you have to be responsible. Getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol is a mistake that can cost you greatly. If you are accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, you need to protect your rights and get legal counsel on your side as soon as possible.
