Bill Clinton’s brother arrested for DUI

On Behalf of | Jun 13, 2016 | Drunk Driving

Bill Clinton’s brother Roger has been arrested for a suspected DUI in California. He is the brother-in-law to presidential hopeful Hilary Clinton. In an ironic twist of timing, the arrest happened just days before Mrs. Clinton was to arrive in California for a stop on her campaign tour.

The arrest happened at 8:00 p.m., on a Sunday. Clinton was in Redondo Beach, which is close to Los Angeles. The police took him into custody and locked him up with bail set at $15,000.

The man is 59 years old.

According to initial reports, a citizen actually helped spark the arrest when Roger’s car was spotted on the Pacific Coast Highway. The citizen was worried about his erratic and potentially dangerous driving and called the authorities.

By the time the police caught up to him, he was close to the intersection where South Prospect Avenue and Torrance Boulevard come together. He was pulled over there and arrested.

This is not the first time that Roger has been in trouble with the law. He has at least one other DUI arrest on his record. He was also arrested for involvement with cocaine, but he was pardoned by his brother, Bill, when Bill was the president of the United States.

It’s unclear if this will sway voters one way or the other. Hilary Clinton is racing for the Democratic nomination, and she is up against Bernie Sanders. Whoever wins will then likely have to face Republican Donald Trump.

While most DUI cases don’t have this sort of high-profile framework, it is important for all who are arrested to know that they have the same rights to a fair, unbiased trial.
